Yoga may be defined as the "rational application of the laws of the unfolding of consciousness in an individual case". You study the laws of the unfolding of consciousness in the universe. You then apply them to a special case and that case is your own. You cannot apply them to another. This is the definite principle to grasp.

Yoga as a system of physical exercise has been in existence since very ancient times. Bending, stretching and breathing can improve your health dramatically

and yoga is a prefect way to do just that. According to ancient people who teach (sages), there are eight stages of yoga, namely :

1. Yama (Social Discipline)
2. Niyama (Individual Discipline)
3. Asana (Postures)
4. Pranayama (Breath Control)
5. Pratyahara (Mental Discipline)
6. Dharana (Concentration)
7. Dhyana (Meditation) and
